Paradise Dynasty

Paradise Dynasty is part of a Singaporean group, this chain famous for their signature eight flavors of xiao long bao.

Xiao Long Bao, literally meaning “small basket buns”, is a type of steamed bun originating from Jiangsu province, China. Known as soup dumplings in English, they are a hybrid of Baozi (包子) and Jiaozi (饺子): having the shape of Baozi but using non-leavened wrappers like Jiaozi.

What makes Xiao Long Bao stand out is its super delicate, thin wrapper and the delicious “soup” inside. Making Xiao Long Bao isn’t an easy task. But it isn’t impossible to produce restaurant standard ones at home.

Do you know that Paradise Dynasty’s xiao long baos are standardized
Each dumpling should weigh in at 25 grams. The skin should be 6.5 grams and the filling 19.5 grams. Even dumpling should also be closed with 18 folds. Any more folds and the skin will have to be thicker.

I’ve been seeing a lot of good reviews about Paradise Dynasty and I have always wanted to try their colorful and legendary Xiao Long Bao. So, I was able to visit their branch in Conrad S Maison Pasay City with Daryll.

The restaurant is spacious with a lovely interior. The menu is extensive, with many unique dishes I’ve never seen before. I wished we had been able to try more.

This restaurant serves the finest northern and southern China cuisine, and the star of the show is undeniably the Specialty Xiao Long Bao, the world’s first eight-colour Xiao Long Bao featuring a myriad of exciting flavours: original, ginseng, foie gras, black truffle, crab roe, cheese, garlic and Szechuan.

You might come to Paradise Dynasty for the specialty xiao long baos but you will definitely stay for all the other delicious food

Radish Pastry
Radish cakes are a dim sum staple and this was a delicious and beautiful twist on the original. The radish pastry was full of thin, crispy layers.

Stir-fried Shredded Pork in Black Bean Sauce

At first I thought this a noodles haha but no this is actually sherred pork. This pork dish was great because of the tender shreds of pork.Served with Chinese Crepes

Lava Charcoal Buns

I love the lava custard center. What made these unique were the charcoal buns, a stark contrast to the traditional pristine white buns.
Spicy Szechuan Crispy Chicken crispy, bite-sized portions of juicy fried chicken with warm roasted peanuts and garlic flakes. With every crunch.

DEEP FRIED GARLIC PORK RIBS

This dish was very flavorful. It’s one of those dishes that you’re sure everyone in the table would love.

Crispy-fried Crystal Prawns tossed with Salted Egg Yolk another tasty treats and one my favorite

Fried Rice in Yang Zhou Style

The rice was generously served with shrimp.

Glutinous Rice Ball Topped with Grated Nuts

They have a good selection of desserts but this one is my personal favorite. The sweetness is just right and not overpowering. The perfect end to a great meal.

Overall, we really enjoyed our visit here. Next time, I want to have a full meal here so I can sample more of their food and I definitely want to eat more of their signature eight flavors xiao long bao.
